Michael “Mike” James Rohrer, 61, Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 2, 1963, to Donald “Butch” Rohrer and Linda (Shirley) Rohrer in Rolla.

He was a 1981 graduate of Belle High School and attended SMSU in Springfield until 1985.

Mike was united in marriage to Dana Convery  Aug. 26, 1989, at the First Baptist Church in Jefferson City.

He was a member of the Rock Baptist Church in North Richland Hill, Texas.

Mike enjoyed playing golf, barbecuing, traveling with Dana, and baking. He was famous for his carrot cake and French toast. He loved cooking Thanksgiving dinner every year for his family.

Mike was a huge Mizzou basketball and K.C. Chiefs fan attending many games for them as well as the Dallas Mavericks when he lived in Texas. He was a talented artist who drew, painted and even designed swimming pools for people. Mike loved Jesus, read his bible daily, and his faith in God was strong. He had just published his own book, “the absence of God”. Above all, Mike loved the times he spent with his family and especially his grandchildren. He will be missed tremendously by his family, friends, and anyone who knew and loved him.

He worked as an Estimator at MICA in Ft. Worth, Texas for 10 years. After moving to Sedalia, Mike worked at James H. Drew for 18 years as a General Manager.

He was preceded in death by father, Donald “Butch” Rohrer; and mother-in-law, Janis Convery.

Mike is survived by wife, Dana; mother, Linda; children, Janlyn Rohrer of Smithton, Bryce Rohrer, and Kelsey Brandkamp and husband Justin, all of Sedalia; sister, Jeannie Wilson and husband Kent of Belle; brother, Bobby Rohrer of Belle; and father-in-law, James Convery. 

Funeral services were held March 3, at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle. Interment was in the Liberty Cemetery.

Memorial contributions suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
