Mad Science - Fire, Wing, Water

Heartland Libraries in Belle and Vienna both had good participation in the annual Mad Science program last week. In Belle, there were 40 participants. Mad Science is a program from St. Louis that brings science to children in an interactive and hands-on way to help them understand. This year’s program was Fire, Wind and Water. Pictured is the scientist in Belle who lighted a flash paper he was able to hold without being burned. There were 24 students who attended the Mad Science program at the Heartland’s Vienna Library. Students were given the opportunity to learn and experience dry ice and they saw an egg to inside of a jar, among other science experiments. The students really liked it. Up next for the library youth programs is the Summer Reading Program, Pirate Adventure, which begins May 5 in Belle and May 17 in Vienna.
