Larry Wayne Sauer, 77, Russellville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at his home. 

He was born May 8, 1944, in Jefferson City, a son of the late Carl and Rosalyn (Propst) Sauer.

Larry was a 1962 graduate of Russellville High School. For many years he was the owner-operator of S&S Excavating as well as own his own contracting company. He also farmed and raised cattle. Larry enjoyed restoring old tractors and had a herd of barn cats that was larger in number than his cows. He was a fantastic dad and grandpa. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by daughter, Tammy Sauer.

He is survived by wife, Betty Sauer; children, Terry Sauer (Diane Crider), Tina Sauer and Theresa Bray (Chris); brother, David Sauer (Olive); step-children, Belinda Ponder, Deborah Ledbetter and Larry and Kevin Grace; grandchildren, Nathan Sauer, Shanae Crider, Garret Bialczyk, Tyler Sauer, Hunter Denich, Trey Bray, Harley Bialczyk and Chelsey Bray; numerous great-grandchildren; and nephews, David Dale Sauer (Theresa) and Christopher Sauer (Brie).

Family and friends will be received Thursday, Jan. 21, from 10-11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stringtown with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Whittle officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
