Lady Tigers sweep Bourbon in GVC hoops opener

BOURBON — A road sweep in their Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) opener.

That is what Evin Farris’ Belle Lady Tigers were after last Wednesday night opening GVC basketball action on the road against Bourbon’s Lady Warhawks.

Racing out to a 25-5 lead after one quarter, Belle never trailed by less than that throughout the remainder of their 60-23 victory in Crawford County.

Freshman guard Anastyn Lansford led the Lady Tigers with a double double of 25 points and 10 steals.

Nevaeh Kinsey also finished in double figures with 12 points to go along with five steals, four assists and two rebounds.

Victoria Busch ended up with eight points while Saige Garner and Hali Naber added five points each.

Naber also added five rebounds and five steals to her five points.

Miranda Sanders and Natalie Gehlert chipped in two points while Molly Busch rounded out the Belle scoring against Bourbon with a first-quarter free throw for one point.

Bevin Bouse led Bourbon with nine points while Marisa Enke pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds for the Lady Warhawks.

Belle also won the junior varsity contest 55-15 behind a game-high 23 points from Ava Feeler.

Aubrey Rehmert also reached double digits for the JV Lady Tigers with 15 points.

Lillie Treece led the JV Lady Warhawks with six points.
