Looking to bounce back from two losses to Steelville in the span of a week, Belle hosted their annual volleyball tournament throughout the day Saturday at Bland Middle School and Belle High School.

First facing Russellville in red pool action at BHS, Evin Farris’ Lady Tigers got off to a good start in the tournament.

Never trailing in either set against the Lady Indians, Belle took both sets from Russellville by scores of 25-19 and 25-11.

Emily Helmig and Lauren Prigge both served four points each for Belle in game one against Russellville.

Maddie Rohrer served up three aces in a row early in game two versus the Lady Indians.

Kenzi Cetroute and Olivia Sanders also fired an ace in the second set of Belle’s pool match with Russellville.

Next facing Plattsburg out of the Kansas City area, Belle looked to keep their winning ways going in pool play.

Unable to hold on to an early lead in game one, Belle saw Plattsburg’s Lady Tigers take the first set 25-20.

Game two saw Belle tie the set at 9-9 on a pair of Rohrer service points before Plattsburg pulled away to a 25-17 victory in the second set.

Looking to clinch their spot in the third-place match, Belle took on North Callaway in their final pool match.

Sweeping both sets 25-9 and 25-12, the host Lady Tigers advanced to the third-place match against Union’s Lady Wildcats who placed second in the black pool played at Bland Middle School.

Prigge served eight points in a row at one point during the first set of their match against North Callaway.

Against Union, Belle saw leads in both sets disappear before settling for fourth place in their own tournament dropping the third-place match in two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-22.
