VERSAILLES — Scoring road wins last week over Iberia and Dixon, KC Curler’s Vienna Lady Eagles looked to run their road winning streak to three games with a victory Monday night in Morgan County against Versailles’ Lady Tigers.
Ending the first quarter with an 11-8 lead, Vienna outscored 22-7 in the second quarter to take a 33-15 halftime lead.
Going on a 14-2 third-quarter run, Curler’s Lady Eagles put the game out of reach going on to a 62-19 victory pushing Vienna over the .500 mark at 6-5 entering the 2024 portion of their season.
Ella Hollis led Vienna just missing a double double with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Jaedyn Schell also reached double figures scoring nine of her 11 points in the second half.
Aubrey Reeves made it a trio of double-digit scorers with 10 points for Vienna.
Madison Weeks just missed double figures finishing with nine points before she fouled out in the third quarter.
Brookelynn Mercer and Aubrey Schwartze each added four points with Schwartze also pulling down a game-high 10 rebounds.
Julianna Davis and Marissa Hollis each added three points for Vienna against Versailles.
Lainey Magner rounded out the Lady Eagle scoring with two points.
Ragen Wilson and Josiah Bentch each scored six points to lead Versailles.
Wilson also grabbed 11 rebounds.
Making a shorter road trip to Dixon last Thursday, the Lady Eagles raced out to a 34-10 halftime lead before going on to a 60-16 win over the host Lady Bulldogs.
Schwartze led Vienna with a double double of 28 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and an assist.
Ella Hollis added 15 points, six steals, five assists and three rebounds.
Mercer chipped in eight points and two assists while Marissa Hollis added three points and three rebounds.
Reese Snodgrass and Weeks rounded out the Lady Eagle scoring against Dixon with two points.
Last Monday in a Highway 42 showdown at Iberia, Schwartze hit five of six free throws in the fourth quarter for Vienna in their 54-53 win over the Lady Rangers.
Doing most of her damage in the first half, Schwartze led the Lady Eagles with 23 points to go along with Weeks also in double figures with 17 points.
