Keeping the nation divided

Many in the Democrat party are enraged after Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty — by reason of self-defense — last week by a jury of his peers. They believe there was no justice, that a murderer was set free.

Rittenhouse shot three men who were seen on video attacking him in August 2020 during riots in Kenosha, Wisc. Two of his attackers died. The third was wounded.

This hatred is easy to explain. They have been lied to by liberal pun-dents in the media for over a year.

These lies were spread in order to fuel the flames of hatred by Democrats and keep the nation divided along racial and ideological lines. It also serves to take their minds off inflation, the debacle in Afghanistan, and the crisis at our southern border.

The first lie was that Rittenhouse crossed state lines — from Illinois — armed with an AR-15 Assault Rifle. That was repeated as late as Nov. 21 by reporter Mark Strassman on CBS’s Face the Nation.

That lie told over and over for more than a year was proven false in the trial.

In the opinion of former Harvard Law Professor, Allen Dershowitz “this is the worst case of coverage of a criminal trial in more than a half-century” with the media making “more factual mistakes” than in any other trial he has witnessed.

The next lie was that Rittenhouse had no businesses in Kenosha when he worked in that city and his father lived there.

Immediately after the shooting, presidential candidate Joe Biden labeled Rittenhouse a “white supremacist” without any evidence. Others also spread that lie in the media. Incidentally, Rittenhouse can sue those who put that label on him, and he should. This insanity has to stop.

PolitiFact called Donald Trump a liar when he said Rittenhouse was trying to get away from the mob as he was attacked — details confirmed by video.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman Sean Patrick Maloney released a Tweet with more lies after the verdict. “It’s disgusting and disturbing that someone was able to carry a loaded assault rifle into a protest against the unjust killing of Jacob Blake, an unarmed Black man, and take the lives of two people and injure another.” It’s easy to debunk all these lies. First, this was not a peaceful protest. It was a riot, second Blake is alive, and third Blake admitted he had a knife.

Before and after the verdict, some media outlets claimed Rittenhouse killed two black men. All three men he shot in self-defense were white.

News outlets also reported that it was illegal for him to carry a gun. The judge dismissed the gun charge during the trial because under Wisconsin law a 17-year-old can legally possess an AR-15.

What jurors saw during the trial — along with those who followed it on TV — was an angry crowd shouting at Rittenhouse “get him…kill him.” They also saw the group pelting him with rocks and kicking him in the head. They saw him being beaten with a skateboard and having a loaded pistol pointed at him.

Fueling the flames of hatred include but was not limited to: Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., on Twitter said a “heartbreaking verdict is a miscarriage of justice” and “sets a dangerous precedent which justifies federal review by DOJ.”

Left-wing comedian Stephen Colbert’s conclusion was Wisconsin’s laws on self-defense should be changed.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, D., “Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum are victims. They should be alive today. The only reason they’re not is because a violent, dangerous man chose to take a gun across state lines and start shooting people. To call this a miscarriage of justice is an understatement.”

Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., Tweeted “The judge. The jury. The defendant. It’s white supremacy in action. This system isn’t built to hold white supremacists accountable.”

Mia Farrow Tweeted, “So anyone can come to a protest, just march down the middle of the street with a massive gun — and kill people?”

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee staffer Dyjuan Tatro Tweeted, “No justice, no peace…American legal system is rooted in racism and functions to uphold white supremacy.”

Only in the eyes of Democrats is the shooting of three white men by a white man seen as racist and upholding white supremacy. But they will say anything to keep the nation divided.
