Joyce Lavern (Baker) Ruhl, 81, of Dixon, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, in Phelps Health, Rolla.
She was born on July 31, 1941, to Carless William and Maude Grace (Alexander) Baker in Maries County.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd Vernon Ruhl, May 28, 1960, at Dixon.
Joyce was baptized in Dec. 1978, while attending the Burnett Church near Dixon. She worked for Brown Shoe Company, Clark’s Drug Store, Dixon Schools and retired from Country Mart. She donated to many foundations including Boys Town, Disabled Veterans of America, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society and more.
She was preceded in death by parents, Carless and Maude; husband, Lloyd; brothers, Wilburn Baker, Wayman Baker and Dorman Baker; and sisters, Pauline Campbell, Lorene Irvin, Fern Veasman, Lola Kelley and Ruth Darlene Watson.
She is survived by children, Randall “Randy” and Elsie Ruhl of Dixon and Sheila Ruhl of Vienna; sister, Wanda Warren and husband Jake of Dixon; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rob and Jude Willhoff.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 10, at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel in Dixon. Interment was in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon.
Memorials suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
