For the first time in over a year, the Phelps-Maries Health Department on May 10 reported zero active cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus in Maries County.
On May 3, there were two active cases in the county.
Persons are encouraged to continue to follow the directives of the CDC and to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their community.
The department reports 25.1 percent of the county’s population has initiated vaccination and 21.7 percent have completed vaccination for the virus.
The department reported 809 persons released from isolation and 15 virus-related deaths.
