Gerhard “Jerry” Welschmeyer, 86, of Columbia, formerly of Freeburg, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Parkside Manor in Columbia.
He was born April 2, 1936, to Anton and Mary (Lauberth) Welschmeyer in Freeburg.
Jerry graduated from Holy Family Catholic School, was employed at Quaker Windows and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church all in Freeburg.
He was preceded in death parents, Anton and Mary; sisters, twin sister Betty Mueller, Lorine Deeken, Thersia Evers and Mildred Hopkins; brother, Paul Welschmeyer; and brothers-in-law, Joe Evers and John Deeken.
Jerry is survived by sister, Helen Grellner and husband Bob of Rich Fountain.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, March 18, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg with Fr. William Debo as the celebrant. Interment was at Holy Family Parish Cemetery in Freeburg.
