OWENSVILLE — Just one year after the COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancellation of the 73rd Annual Gasconade County Fair, the fair association is gearing up to give Gasconade County residents and tourists exactly what they’ve been waiting for: four nights jam-packed with entertainment.

Headlining the main stage during this year’s event on Saturday, July 31, is country music icon, Craig Morgan. A multi-faceted entertainer, Morgan has also made a name for himself as a television personality, celebrated outdoorsman and Army veteran. Inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, Morgan has charted 25 songs on Billboard and thrills crowds with signature hits like “Bonfire,” “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” “Redneck Yacht Club” and more.

Last year, Morgan released his first new music in over three years – “God, Family, Country,” a faith-filled tribute to his son Jerry.

Returning to perform this year is pop worship band, I Am They, opening this year’s main stage musical festivities on Thursday, July 29, at 8:30 p.m. The band, made up of Matt Hein and Brandon Chase, both on vocals and guitar, Abbie Parker on vocals, Justin Shinn on keys and Nicole Hickman on the drums, released their third album, Faithful God, last year.

Musical entertainment for fair goers on Friday, July 30, begins with well-known local band, Barely Covered, occupying the lower field beer garden from 8 p.m. to midnight. Barely Covered covers recognizable rock songs ranging from 80s, punk, grunge and alternative rock.

Entertaining attendees in the lower field beer garden from 8-12 p.m. Saturday night is Missouri-based rock-and-roll cover band, Iron Road.

Taking the main stage on Friday beginning at 8:30 p.m. is the Roots and Boots Tour, featuring three country music artists: Aaron Tippin, Sammy Kershaw and Collin Raye.

Tippin, who marks his silver anniversary as a recording artist this year, is known for his honest lyrics and direct, impassioned voice. Tippin’s hit songs include well-known “You’ve Got To Stand For Something,” “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong With The Radio,” “My Blue Angel” and more. Five of his albums are certified ‘Gold’ and a sixth stands at the ‘Platinum’ level.

Along with the new music, Tippin has partnered with Stonehaus Winery to produce Aaron Tippin Country Jam, a barrel-selected blackberry wine. “Wine making has always been a passion of mine so I’m so excited about this new venture,” Tippin said.

Kershaw, a Grammy-nominated, multi Platinum-selling artist, has six ‘Gold’ and three ‘Platinum’ albums that have in excess of five millions records and more than 70 million combined songs sold. Kershaw was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in February 2010. A true Country Music Original, Kershaw’s hits include “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” “I Can’t Reach Her Anymore,” “Cadillac Style” and more.

Described as an energetic showman, Raye shot to fame with “Love, Me” in 1991. He has 24 top-ten records, 16 No. 1 hits and is a 10-time Male Vocalist of the Year nominee. Raye’s hits include “In this Life,” “My Kind of Girl,” “Little Rock,” and more.

Raye is an avid supporter of social causes and was presented with the Country Radio Seminar’s Humanitarian of the Year award in 2001 by fellow musician, Clint Black.
