The Maries County Fair Association has worked with several Missouri food vendors to offer a wide variety of food options for this year’s fairgoers. During the fair, food trucks will be set up in the concourse area behind the grandstands at Vienna City Park.  

Foodies on Wheels, Rolla, will serve BBQ tacos and sandwiches on Friday and Saturday evenings. Fresh Lemonade Company, Columbia, will serve corn dogs, ribbon fries and flavored lemonade on Thursday evening, Friday day and evening, and Saturday day and evening. Hillbilly Kettle Corn will serve kettle corn, homemade pork rinds and water on Thursday evening, Friday day and evening, and Saturday day and evening. Lu Lu’s, Brumley, will serve Philly nachos, burgers, chili cheese fries, fried pickles, Philly steak, tenderloins and hot dogs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. River’s Bend Concessions,Belle, will serve shrimp, frog legs, catfish, burgers and lemonade on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Ronnie’s Cookie Dough Diner, Steelville, will serve safe-to-eat cookie dough in a variety of flavors on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Sid’s Snacks, Fulton, will serve tenderloin sandwiches and walking tacos on Friday evening, Saturday day and Saturday evening. Sinden Down Home Barbecue will serve smoked barbecue Friday and Saturday evenings. Backyard Bites, Vienna, will serve burgers, fries, etc. throughout the fair. Additional food trucks may sign up before the fair begins.  

Des Moines Amusements, providing this year’s carnival rides, will have concessions of cotton candy, lemonade and snow cones available in the midway throughout the fair.

At the motorsports complex, the VHS Junior Class will provide concessions including burgers, hotdogs, pulled pork sandwiches, nachos, funnel cakes, Pepsi products, etc., on Thursday and Friday evenings, and Saturday beginning at noon. Long-time fair vendor, Bear Trap Kettle Corn, Freeburg, will sell kettle corn at the motorsports complex on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

The junior class also currently plans to sell concessions near the agricultural barn during the morning and mid-day on Friday.

The Vienna Chamber of Commerce will operate alcohol sales at the motorsports complex Thursday and Friday evenings, beginning at 4 p.m., and on Saturday, beginning at noon. Alcohol sales will cease each day at the discretion of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, but no later than 1a.m. A variety of canned beer and seltzers will be available for $3 per can. St. James Winery Blackberry, Strawberry Moscato and Peachy Sangria wine will be available for $6 per can. Valid photo idea will be required for all alcohol sales.  

Due to state requirements associated with alcohol sales, alcoholic beverages, except that sold by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, is prohibited during the 2021 Maries County Fair. As a reminder, City of Vienna ordinances prohibit open alcoholic containers—all alcohol must be consumed in the vicinity of the motorsports complex outside Vienna city limits.  

Season passes, priced at $30 each, are on sale at Vienna Quik Spot, G & W Foods, The Market, and The Maries County Bank at the Vienna, Dixon, Argyle, Belle and Vichy facilities. Season passes MUST be purchased prior to the start of the 2021 fair and will not be available at the entry gate. The 2021 gate fees (for individuals not purchasing season passes) are Thursday $15, Friday $20, and Saturday $30. Admission to the 2021 fair includes unlimited carnival rides purchase of tickets or armbands. Paid admission is required for all fairgoers ages five or older.

The association still seeks volunteers for several tasks throughout the fair weekend. Individuals willing to donate two hours on fair weekend should contact Brenda Davis at 573-418-4647 as soon as possible.

With just a little more than a week until the start of the 2021 Maries County Fair, the association has completed the final stages of planning and is ready to present a great fair experience to Maries County and surrounding communities. One final reminder of scheduled fair activities:

Thursday: Gates/Carnival open at 4 p.m.;  Little Mister and Miss registration 4 to 5 p.m.; Little Mister and Miss Pageant 5 p.m.; Junior Princess, Princess and Queen Pageants 6 to 8 p.m.; Non-sanctioned truck pull 7:30 p.m.; 50/50 raffle sales 5 to 9 p.m.  

Friday:  Gates/Carnival open at 4 p.m.; Exhibit entries due at youth building by 9 a.m.; Agricultural activities throughout the day and evening; The Lesters concert 6 p.m.; Demolition Derby 8 p.m.; 50/50 raffle sales 5 to 9 p.m.

Saturday: Gates/Carnival Open at Noon; Parade Judging 9:30 a.m.; Parade Staging 10 a.m.; Parade Starts 11 a.m.; Zumba in the Streets at Old Jail Museum Complex 9:15 a.m.; Owen Kloeppel at 1st & Main, Hensley Boys at Coffey Street, courthouse square, and Andrew Stratman at Knights Hall, all at 10 a.m.; Cruise-In 1 p.m.; Cornhole Tournament 1 p.m.; Craft Market 1 p.m.; Brewer Science Exhibit 1 to 4 p.m.; Jacob Gapsch and the Night Shift 2 p.m.; Kiddie Tractor Pull 2 p.m.; Sawdust Trail 3 p.m.; Greased Pig Contest 4 p.m.; The Comancheros 5 p.m.; 70’s Costume Contest 5 to 8 p.m.; Ozark Mountain Daredevils 8 p.m.; 50/50 raffle sales 5 to 9 p.m., DJ Party 10 p.m.
