Erma Jean Pendleton, 85, Belle, passed away Tuesday, Sept.14, 2021, in Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.
She was born March 29, 1936, to George Thomas and Minnie May (McKinney) Backues in Osage County.
She was united in marriage July 3, 1954, to James Ulysses Pendleton in Dixon.
Erma Jean was a member of Liberty Church of Christ, Belle. During her working life, she was employed at International Shoe Company, Belle; at Ottenihemir Garment Factory, Vichy; at Maries R-2 Schools, Belle; and in food service for six years, prior to her retirement in 1995.
She was preceded in death by parents George and Minnie; brothers infant Earl Eugene Backues, Delmar Chesley Backues and Roy Milford Backues.
She is survived by husband James of the home; sons James E. Pendleton and wife Joan of Hallsville and Dennis Lee Pendleton of Belle.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 21, in Liberty Church of Christ, Belle, with Randy Carr officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery, Belle.
