Edmund Simon Lueckenotto, 89, Jefferson City, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021, at Columbia Post Acute in Columbia.
He was born March 5, 1932, to Henry and Agnes Regina (Groner) Lueckenotto, in Meta.
He was united in marriage to Arline Marie Struemph, Oct. 26, 1963, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg.
Edmund served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a radio telephone operator for a field artillery unit. He was an Honor Flight recipient in 2014. Edmund worked for DeLong’s Inc for over 10 years and for USPS as a city letter carrier for 28 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, American Postal Workers Local 336, Knights of Columbus of Jefferson City, Knights of Columbus of St. Thomas, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693.
He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Agnes; sisters, Imogene Volmert and husband Herb, Rose Bisges and husband Hugo and Jerri Schroeder; brothers, Fr. Arthur Lueckenotto and Bob Lueckenotto; and brothers-in-law, Fred Hagenhoff and Ed Buechter.
He is survived by wife, Arline, of Jefferson City; children, Diane James and husband Larry of Belle, Gary Lueckenotto and wife Cyndi of Raymore, Craig Lueckenotto of Holts Summit and Philip Lueckenotto and wife Stephanie of Springfield; siblings, Florentine Hagenhoff of Holts Summit, Dorothy Buechter of St. Anthony, Lawrence “Larry” Lueckenotto and wife Katie and Marie Lueckenotto, all of Meta, Norine Brune and husband Jim of Blue Springs, Mildred Wieberg and husband Bill of St. Thomas; brother-in-law, Ed “Jr.” Schroeder; and three grandchildren, four bonus grandchildren and four bonus great-grandchildren;
Visitation will be Thursday, June 3, from 4-7 p.m. at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 4, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Antweiler officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Memorial contributions suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
