Country legend Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry will headline this year’s musical entertainment at the 73rd Annual Belle Fair, taking the stage Saturday night at 9 pm.
The artist recently released “Outskirts,” a seven-song EP. With 20 plus charted singles, the Kentucky native has earned CMA, ACM, and GRAMMY awards and nominations with undeniable blue collar anthems like “Hell Yeah,” “My Town,” and “Hillbilly Shoes.” They’ve notched five No. 1 singles, “If You Ever Stop Loving Me,” “Something To Be Proud Of,” “Lucky Man,” “Back When I Knew It All” and “Roll With Me.” They were inducted as Grand Ole Opry members in 2009 and were inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2015.
Entertainment for Friday evening will be provided by local band Barely Covered at 8:30 pm. Barely Covered is a musical group from Owensville and consists of members: Tyler Ahring, Casey Erhart, Alynn Chaney, Clay Ahfeldt, Sheradin Edler, and Dan Krampe.
Ahring is an original founding member and plays guitar and bass. Erhart is also a founding member and plays drums. Chaney, another founding member, is the lead male vocalist for the group. Ahfeldt plays guitar and bass. Sheridan Edler is the lead female vocalist for the band. Dan Krampe plays guitar and bass. Even though they have official lead singers, throughout the course of an evening everyone tends to pitch in on vocals.
Musical style ranges from rock and roll that is inspired by punk, classic rock, metal, and modern alternative. In addition to playing covers, the group also writes and performs original songs. In 2019, the band started focusing more on original music and are in the process of recording their first album.
Another Owensville based music group, Centerstage Band, is scheduled to entertain the crowd Thursday. This group will perform Rock, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, and Country tunes.
The current lineup of the band includes Joe Littrell, Dave Rose, Danny Littrell, Josh Littrell, and Collin Frahm. The group has been performing together for a little over two years.
Originally members of the band Legend, Joe and Danny Littrell have been playing music together for decades. Opening for bands like Night Ranger and other major label bands as well as being one of, if not the biggest, bands playing in the Mid-Missouri area for years, Legend reunions still draw major crowds.
Since Legend, Joe Littrell has gone on to play in multiple other bands including Nightwind, Trickshot, and is currently playing with Centerstage, Iron Road, and Bucket List. Joe has also written and recorded a number of solo tracks and released one album of originals. Joe’s songs have been played on the radio and have been published in Nashville and recorded by multiple professional recording artists.
Danny Littrell played for years with Legend before taking a break. Never losing his passion for music, but not playing in any bands, he joined Iron Road and Centerstage a few years ago and has been the drummer for both since.
Dave Rose began playing bass at a young age and was playing in his first band with family at the age of 13. He later played with Joe in the band Nightwind for a number of years, and when that band parted ways he and Joe helped start Trickshot and haven’t stopped playing together since. He is currently the bassist for Centerstage, Iron Road, and Bucket List.
Josh Littrell is the son of Danny and grew up where Legend held their practices, so he was immersed in music from a very young age. He started playing guitar at 14 and attended East Central College where he studied guitar, piano, and choir and earned a degree in music. He joined Centerstage and has been enjoying playing with them for a few years now.
Collin Frahm began singing at a very young age. His mother said he was humming in his sleep as a newborn and never stopped making noise. He was enrolled in piano and voice lessons early on and participated in choirs and marching band through college. He got a chance to live his dream and sing with a band when his dad told him Centerstage was looking for a singer. That was a little over two years ago and he’s been with them ever since.
Start time of the concert will be determined by the length of the greased pig event.
