Maries County basketball fans have only a few more days to wait before seeing their respective teams in action later this week.
Belle High School will hold their annual Red and White night tomorrow (Thursday) beginning at 5:30 p.m., with the ‘C’ team boys facing off against the varsity girls followed at 6:30 p.m., by the junior varsity boys taking on their varsity counterparts.
John Viehland’s Belle Tigers will open their season on Monday, Nov. 25 hosting Linn’s Wildcats in a Highway 89 hardwood showdown beginning at 5:30 p.m., with the JV boys contest and varsity action to follow.
Nate Lansford’s Belle Lady Tigers competed in their preseason jamboree last night (Tuesday) at Dixon High School against the host Lady Bulldogs and Eugene Lady Eagles.
Without a scheduled game during the month of November, Lansford’s Lady Tigers will open their regular season the week of Dec. 2 at the Eugene Girls Basketball Tournament.
Vienna’s Lady Eagle and Eagle basketball squads will open their respective regular seasons Friday night.
KC Curler’s Lady Eagles will host Russellville’s Lady Indians inside the friendly confines of Vienna High School’s (VHS) Allen Gymnasium in varsity-only action with a 6 p.m., tip time.
Chandler Harker’s Eagles will start the 2024-25 season on the road also Friday night along Interstate 44 facing off against Richland’s Bears at 6 p.m., in Pulaski County beginning with junior-varsity action.
Harker’s Eagles will make their Allen Gymnasium debut on Tuesday, Nov. 26 as part of a home tripleheader against New Bloomfield’s Wildcats starting at 5 p.m.
