Donley “Don” Bennett Jones, 84, Dixon, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, in Maries Manor, Vienna.
He was born Dec. 17, 1937, to Bennett Garrett and Ethel Ira (Crismon) Jones in Maries County.
Don attended church with his parents at the First Church of God, Dixon.
A graduate of Dixon High School, Don continued his education at Anderson College in Anderson, Ind., where he majored in biology and minored in art. He taught for approximately 10 years at Dixon and Mt. Grove. He worked as a technician for the Missouri Department of Resources. Don continued his education in art by taking graduate courses at Ball State University. His art was exhibited in a number of juried shows in Missouri and the Midwest. His art was exhibited at the Missouri State Fair, art galleries, and art museums, including the Springfield Art Museum.
He was preceded in death by parents Bennett and Ethel Jones; sisters Juanita “Ruth” Kardatzke and Roma Lea Ray; brothers-in-law Miles “Mike” Kardatzke and Paul Lionel Ray.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday (today), June 22, at 10 a.m., in the Dixon Cemetery, Dixon.
