Donald Colby




Donald Dean Colby, 86, Dixon, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, in the Cedar Pointe Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rolla.

He was born on June 28, 1936, a son of Benjamin and Geneva (Armet) Colby at Phillipsburg, Kan.

He was united in marriage to Dolores L. Albright, in 1957, at New Windsor, Md. 

Donald served in the U.S. Army just over 20 years from 1953–1973 and served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, St. Robert. He drove for Butler Trucking for over six years.

He was preceded in death by parents Ben and Geneva; son Calvin Reed; daughter Ingrid Colby and several brothers and sisters. 

He is survived by wife Dolores of the home near Dixon; son Clarence Colby of Dixon; daughters Linda Bellamy and husband James of Rock, West Va., and Jennifer Colby of the state of Penn.; brother Darrel Colby of Phillipsburg, Kan.; and four grandchildren.

Interment with full military honors was held Monday, Aug. 29, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville.
