Delores Josefa Hoffman, 72, Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020, in SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Jefferson City.
She was born Nov. 9, 1947, to Edward Joseph and Marie (Steinman) Wieberg, at Freeburg.
She was first united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” August Mengwasser, Sept. 14, 1968, at Freeburg. He preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage to Joseph Frank “Butchie” Hoffman, March 13, 1982, at Freeburg.
Delores attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg early in life and later St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Westphalia and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City. She had been employed by Quaker Window Products Company in Freeburg.
She was also preceded in death by parents, Edward and Marie; brother, Bernard Wieberg Sr.; infant sisters, Betty and Nancy Wieberg; and brothers-in-law, John Lynch and David Baysinger.
She is survived by children, Andy Mengwasser and wife Priscilla of Koeltztown, Norman Mengwasser and wife Wanda of New Bloomfield and April Chouinard, Amanda Block and husband Daniel and Christopher Hoffman and wife Jessica, all of Jefferson City; siblings, Rita Ann Lynch of Jefferson City and John Wieberg and wife Judy, Alfred “Fritz” Wieberg and Donna Baysinger, all of Freeburg; sister-in-law, Geraldine Wieberg of Freeburg; and four grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, March 17, in Holy Family Catholic Church of Freeburg with Rev. William D. Debo as celebrant. Interment was in Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg. Memorial contributions suggested to masses or Holy Family School, Freeburg.
