Delmar “Bud” Emil Picker, 95, Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, at Mesa, Ariz.
He was born April 17, 1926, to the late Harold “Hal” Emil and Flora “Lena” Evalena (Elrod) Picker at Paydown in Maries County.
He was united in marriage to Rita Mae Holterman Aug. 22, 1953, in Freeburg.
Bud served his country in the U. S. Army until March 11, 1946, when he was honorably discharged.
He was employed with Missouri Pacific Railroad Company, Missouri Highway Department and founded the company of Groner and Picker Consulting Engineers in Jefferson City.
Bud was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Flora; son, Gregory Douglas Picker, and sisters, Gladys Elnora Honse and Goldia M. Picker.
He is survived by wife, Rita Picker, of Jefferson City; children, Susan S. York of Jefferson City and Steven Picker and husband, Brian Underwood, of Pensacola Beach, Fla.; two grandsons; and three great-grandsons. A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, March 8, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City with the Father Tony Onyeine and Father John Groner officiating.
Private Family inurnment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City.
