The Gerald Lions Club sponsored a Veterans Day parade and ceremony Sunday, Nov. 7. The honor guard stepped off at 2 p.m. to lead the long procession down Main Street and then west to Legion park where a ceremony was held at the veterans memorial. Old Whitey the vintage truck from the Gerald-Rosebud Fire Department was bedecked with flags for the parade. A large group of side-by-sides followed Whitey. Then came an impressive array of classic cars and trucks. Several businesses and organizations were also represented in the parade, including DEMA Engineering. The parade was the best tribute to veterans in recent memory.
