DIXON — Revenge.

That was on the mind of Gabbie Scott’s Belle Lady Tiger volleyball team Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 2, District 8 Volleyball Tournament at Dixon High School against Steelville.

Swept in three sets during two previous meetings, Belle looked to flip the script against their Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) rivals.

Holding early leads in the first and third sets, Belle could not make those stand before seeing their season end at 16-9-1 following a three-set loss to Steelville 25-15, 25-9 and 25-15.

Senior Maddie Rohrer had an ace and two service points helping Belle to an early 5-2 lead in game one before Steelville scored 11 of the last 12 points in the set.

Hali Naber had a pair of kills in game two to lead Belle.

Naber also recorded four blocks in game three pushing the Lady Tigers to an early 7-2 lead.

Molly Busch led Belle in game three with four service points.

Prior to their district opener, Belle hosted Bourbon and Dixon closing their regular season last Monday and Tuesday.

Sending seniors Lauren Prigge, Emily Helmig and Rohrer out victorious last Monday, Belle’s varsity swept Bourbon in three sets 25-15, 25-16 and 25-4.

They also swept Dixon in three sets last Tuesday by scores of 25-12, 25-21 and 25-21.

All-GVC and All-District volleyball team lists were not available at press time.
