Belle, Vienna spring sports to open seasons

Later this week and early next week, spring sports throughout Belle and Vienna will get under way weather and field conditions permitting.

Cory Nicholson’s Vienna Eagle baseball team is scheduled to open their season Friday at home against Tuscumbia at 5 p.m., at Vienna City Park.

Track and Field at Vienna will kick off on Thursday, March 25 with a home meet for the middle school and on Friday, March 26 for the high schoolers on the road at School of the Osage.

Weather and field conditions permitting, Chris Feeler’s Belle Tiger baseball team is scheduled to open their season Friday on the road at Viburnum against the Blue Jays with a 4:30 p.m., first pitch.

Meagan Fisher’s Lady Tiger soccer team is slated to open their spring season on Monday, March 22 on the road at Crocker against the Lady Lions with a 4:30 p.m., start time.

Tim Evans’ BHS golfers are scheduled to open their campaign also on Monday with a four-team meet at Cuba with a 4 p.m., tee time against Owensville, Newburg and the host Wildcats.

Track action will also open next week with the middle school squad in a meet at Linn on Monday, March 22 at 3:30 p.m., while the high school track team will kick off their season on Tuesday, March 23 in a meet at St. James scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
