A structure fire Tuesday morning at the 500 block of First Street in Belle was declared a total loss.
Local fire departments were dispatched to the scene at 5:07 a.m. on Tuesday. Belle Fire Protection District was the first to arrive on the scene and found the structure fully engulfed.
Bland Fire Protection District, Owensville Volunteer Fire Department, and Vichy Volunteer Fire Department were on scene providing assistance and transporting water.
Firemen fought the blaze for four hours.
“It is a total loss and ruled undetermined at this time,” said an official from the Belle Volunteer Fire Department on Tuesday afternoon. “Not sure who lives there or if anyone did.”
According to a post on Bland Fire Protection District’s Facebook page Tuesday morning, the houses on both sides of the fire suffered heat damage to their siding. No known permanent resident was known to be residing in the house at the time of the call. Power lines near the house were also damaged and Ameren Missouri was on the scene making repairs.
