A Belle man was fatally injured during the evening hours of Aug. 12 when the motorcycle he was operating ran off of the roadway west of Owensville.
Emil Jones, 37, was traveling west on Missouri State Highway 28 around 10 p.m. on a 2005 Yamaha V-Star 650, 654 feet west of Meyer Road, when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the left side of the roadway, and struck an embankment.
Jones was pronounced dead at 10:25 p.m. by Owensville Area Ambulance District manager Karen Arnold. His body was transported to Sassmann’s Funeral Home in Belle.
Gasconade County Coroner Jeff Arnold said Jones died from blunt force trauma. No autopsy was conducted but blood was drawn from the deceased.
This is Troop F’s third fatality for August and 46th for the year.
