The Back-to-School Fair for Maries R-1 students grades pre-K through 8th grade once again this year was a drive-through event. They pulled up to the curb and teachers and helpers got names and grades and provided the students with a bag of school supplies for their class put together by the staff. Everything in the handed out Wednesday after school using the drive-thru method was donated by local businesses and people. Maries R-1 Elementary Principal Shanda Snodgrass said some donated money to purchase school supplies. They had plenty of help for the Back-To-School Fair, and distributed the 260 bags to R-1 and Visitation Inter-Parish School students.
