Audrey Ellen Shepherd, 89, Dixon, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021, in Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Sept. 24, 1931, to Louis Vincent and Alma E. (Fritchey) Slone, near Dixon.
She was united in marriage to William Carl Shepherd, June 12, 1948 Dixon.
Audrey was a graduate of Dixon public schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She worked at H.D. Lee Co. in Richland and as a secretary for the Production Credit Association. She later owned and operated Dixon Floral, along with sister, Dorothy and daughter, Carlene, prior to retiring in 1990.
She was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Alma; husband, Carl; son, Arthur Shepherd; sister, Dorothy George; brother-in-law, Andy George; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter in infancy.
She is survived by children, Carlene McMillian and husband Elroy and Kevin Shepherd and wife Joyce, all of Dixon, and Lewis Shepherd of Rolla; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Shepherd of Dixon; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held, Wednesday, March 31, in Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel in Dixon with pastors Jerry Dooley and Jack Caple officiating. Interment was in Dixon Cemetery.
