The weekly Covid-19 coronavirus numbers reported by the Phelps-Maries County Health Department this week showed a slight reduction in the number of active cases of the virus in Maries County.

Last week the number of active cases was reported at 39. This week, as reported Jan. 25, that number is 23. The health department reported 27 active cases on Jan. 21.

Phelps County’s active cases also showed a small decline as on Jan. 21 there were 185 active cases in the county. On Jan. 25 the health department reported 140 active cases in Phelps County.

The health department and medical experts urge citizens to be patient as they wait for the Covid-19 vaccination, and to remain diligent in wearing masks, social distancing, and hand washing.
