Alma Elizabeth Mehrhoff, 86, of Owensville, went to her heavenly home Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at Stonebridge of Owensville.
She was born March 6, 1938, to Louis W. and Anna L. (Meier) Bentlage in Osage County.
She was united in marriage to Willard Eugene Mehrhoff, May 14, 1955, in Belle.
Alma’s favorite thing to do was cook for the family. She was a wonderful cook and could make great dishes just from her own thoughts. She would cook for days to have a big holiday or Sunday meal for the whole family. She loved for the entire family to come home on Sunday’s. Sewing and gardening were her other talents and joys. She could sew for hours making anything from curtains to blouses. Her love for gardening was also amazing. You never went by the old family farm house without seeing beautiful flowers everywhere. She also had a profound love for all animals. If they had four legs and came into her world, she loved them with her whole heart.
Alma was a beautiful soul. She worked hard her whole life being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. The Mehrhoff family was very blessed to have her in our lives.
She was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Anna; husband, Willard; siblings, Leo Bentlage, Grace Linhardt and George Bentlage; grandson, James R. Buschmann; son-in-law, Kevin Schlottog; and
beloved cat, “Baby Girl.”
She is survived by children, Michael Mehrhoff and wife Donna, Barbara Buschmann and husband Norman, Carol Schlottog Hamilton and husband Jerry and Kenneth Mehrhoff and wife Brenella; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces; and special friend, Sheri Wibberg.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor Shane Jarvis officiating. Burial was in Leduc Methodist Cemetery in Leduc.
Memorials requested for Leduc Methodist Cemetery.
