All-GVC baker’s dozen

Last Tuesday night, Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) basketball coaches from Belle, Bourbon, Cuba, Steelville, Viburnum and Vienna met to see who would make the 2019-20 All-GVC Basketball Teams.

All-GVC baker’s dozen

Last Tuesday night, Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) basketball coaches from Belle, Bourbon, Cuba, Steelville, Viburnum and Vienna met to see who would make the 2019-20 All-GVC Basketball Teams.

Once all was said and done, a total of 13 basketball players from Maries County were named to their respective All-GVC Basketball teams.

On the girl’s side of the ledger, Belle Lady Tiger junior Halle Smith and Steelville’s Sydney Booker were both named the Co-Most Valuable Players (MVP’s) of the conference.

Joining Smith from Belle earning All-GVC honors was forward Olivia Sanders.

Vienna’s Lady Eagles saw the duo of Kadence George and Kamryn Hayes earn All-GVC honors in central Maries County.

Also earning All-GVC Honorable Mention nods were Vienna’s Autumn Smith along with the Belle duo of Grace Busch and Hali Naber.

Joining the seven Maries County players on the All-GVC Girls Basketball Team were first-team selections Audrey Williams (Cuba), Alyssa Church (Steelville), Naomi Perkins (Steelville), Abby Peterson (Cuba), Tatumn Boyer (Viburnum), Colby Radford (Bourbon) and Jenell Light (Cuba).

Tobi Pennock (Steelville) was the only additional All-GVC Girls Basketball Honorable Mention selection along with Busch, Naber and Smith.

For Belle’s Tigers and Vienna’s Eagles, three players from each squad helped make up a third of the players named to the All-GVC Boy’s Basketball Team.

Tiger senior Jat Ridenhour along with the Vienna trio of Nathan Kleffner, Trey Snodgrass and Bayrd VanScoy were all named GVC All-Conference.

Belle’s duo of Lane Feeler and Eddy Paz were two of the fifth All-GVC Honorable Mention selections.

Steelville’s Tanner Diaz was named the GVC’s Most Valuable Player.

Also named to the All-GVC First Team were Aaron Farris (Bourbon), Chase Cottrell (Steelville), Ryan Fetters (Bourbon), Logan Chilton (Cuba), Rylee Mabe (Steelville), Josh Earney (Steelville) and Al Palmer (Cuba).

Joining Feeler and Paz as All-GVC Honorable Mention selections were Kadin Norris (Steelville), Garrett Sellers (Cuba) and Justin Lowe (Bourbon).
