In the weekend (of Aug. 3-4), there were two more mass shootings—one in El Paso, Texas, with 21 deaths and 26 injured, and one in Dayton, Ohio, with nine dead and 27 injured.
When will America stand up to this president and the Republican senate and Mitch McConnell and demand that something is done? This is how Adolf Hitler manipulated the masses in the 1930s that led to the second world war. The Republicans have bowed down to the NRA and their money for decades.
Some 80 percent of Americans are in agreement that gun control is needed. I’m not in favor of taking away guns per se or trashing the second amendment, but these assault rifles have no place in our culture, especially those with multiple ammo magazines, as many as 50 rounds or more. These are just made to kill people and should only be allowed to be used by law enforcement or the military.
It has been estimated that there are over 393 million guns in the US already.
In the recent past there were mass murders in Las Vegas, Nev., on Oct. 1, 2017, with 58 killed and over 500 injured; on Nov. 5, 2017, in Sutherland Springs, Texas, more than two dozen were killed and many injured; On Feb. 14, 2018, at Douglas High School (in Parkland, Fla.) 17 students and two teachers were killed and many others injured; on May 18, 2018 at Santa Fe High School (in Santa Fe, Texas) eight students and two teachers were murdered and 13 wounded; on June 28, 2018 at Annapolis, Md., five were dead and many injured; on Oct. 27, 2018, at Pittsburgh, Pa., 11 were dead and many injured; on Nov. 7, 2018, at Thousand Oaks, Calif., 12 were killed and many injured; on Feb. 15, 2019, in Chicago, Ill., five were killed and many were injured; and on May 31, 2019, at Virginia Beach, Va., 12 were killed and many were injured.
There have been over 300 multiple gun killings already in 2019.
Since 2016 when this president started his campaign, hate crimes are up 226 percent. That should tell you something right there.
This president said on national TV that he is a white nationalist. He loves Kim Jong Un and thumbs his nose at our friends. These are facts, folks, which no one can deny.
I will get trashed by the many gun nuts for presenting these facts, you can count on it. But, I don’t care because I feel for these many who have lost loved ones. Someone needs to stand by them.
