Dear Editor,
Soon after President Obama was elected, he was facing the worst recession since the Great Depression of the 1930’s. That was the legacy Republican George Bush left him.
This country was losing 200,000 jobs a week. Unemployment was at 10 percent and rising. He had to take drastic action immediately after he was elected. But, the Republicans (both nationally and local) were bashing him on a daily basis for the deficit, which was the result of the tax cuts for the super rich made by the Republicans.
But, now after President Trump’s tax cuts (again for the super rich), this country is facing a deficit of 1.3 trillion, the biggest ever. But where are the Republicans? They have not said a word about the deficit. They are so quiet one could hear a pin drop.
Senator Mitch McConnell says after the mid-term election they will cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to offset the huge deficit. Republicans always cut benefits to the lower and middle class first and the super rich go unscathed when it comes to balancing the budget.
Also, it was the same about those executive orders. Now that Trump is in power not a word is said about that even though Trump has already signed at least 85, while Obama only signed 276 in his entire eight years. Where are those screams now?
All the clamor about abusing the Constitution. Just think about how Trump is trashing the constitution. It leaves nothing to the imagination. Again, the Republicans don’t say a word do they?
Did Obama do everything right? Absolutely not. There hasn’t been a POTUS yet that has. Everything Trump does has to benefit him and his family first financially but I’ll let you be the judge of Trump.
I know I will get slammed for this letter to the editor by the many die hard Trumpians but everything is this letter is the absolute truth. Check it out before responding.
All I can say is may the good Lord help this nation before it is too late.
