Smith just missed a double double adding nine rebounds while Schultz flirted with a triple double throwing in seven assists and eight steals with her 21 points..

Dropping their season-opener to Richland over a week ago, Evin Farris’ Belle Lady Tigers looked for their first notch in the win column last week in the Eugene Girls Basketball Tournament.

Facing Tuscumbia’s Lady Lions in the first round of pool play, Belle got off to a slow start trailing 12-6 after one quarter.

Trailing 25-20 at halftime, the Lady Tigers tamed Tuscumbia in the second half outscoring them 45-21 to go on to a 65-46 victory.

Smith and Schultz both flirted with triple doubles against Tuscumbia.

Halle torched the nets with a game-high 31 points in addition to pulling down nine rebounds and blocking eight shots.

Schultz fired in 21 points along with dishing out eight assist and recording six steals.

Baylie Cadwallader added seven markers while Busch kicked in five points all in the second half.

Belle’s Lady Tigers will host Iberia tomorrow (Thursday) night while their Tiger counterparts will return to action on the road Friday night against Crocker’s Lions with a 6 p.m., start time for the junior varsity boys game.
