ST. JAMES — Braving the elements of rain and wind last Tuesday night at the St. James High School Multipurpose Complex, Belle Lady Tiger soccer under the tutelage of first-year head coach Meagan Fisher.
Facing Sullivan’s Lady Eagles and the host Lady Tigers, Belle was able to gain some valuable experience against schools bigger than them.
Falling 1-0 to Sullivan and 2-0 to St. James in a pair of 35-minute jamboree scrimmages, Fisher’s Lady Tigers opened their regular season Monday night on the road in Crocker against the Lady Lions.
Falling 9-1 to a Crocker team that they could see again during the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 1, District 5 Tournament in May, Belle got their lone goal from senior Baylie Cadwallader.
Seniors joining Cadwallader for their final season of Belle Lady Tiger soccer include Suzanna Wade, Daylee Walters, Brittany White and Abby Keeney.
Juniors playing on the pitch for Belle include Katie Love, Faith Gieck, Zana Robertson, Erin Schalk, and Nisha Faber.
Sophomores rounding out the Lady Tiger soccer roster include Rose Baxter and Faith Langdon.
Belle will try again to give Coach Fisher her first victory tomorrow night (Thursday) on the road in Osage County against Fatima’s Lady Comets in Westphalia.
