It was a happy event at the Mardi Gras Jackpot Night on Saturday night at the Visitation Knights of Columbus Hall in Vienna when the Knights burned the paid bank note, celebrating the $750,000 hall and gymnasium being paid off. The Knights Hall has been a fine asset to the community since it opened in 2007 following years of discussion, land acquisition and finally construction and completion. The generosity of parish members and the community made this possible and the Knights expressed appreciation for all of the support. Grand Knight Mark James said he is proud to be the Grand Knight on this occasion. Not having to worry about paying off the building, he said, will let the Knights focus on what they should be doing, which is supporting children. Those present at the note burning Saturday night included Shane Backues (left), Jamie Jones, Kenny Stratman, Rick Buschmann, Vic Stratman, Leonard Ewers, Craig Hollis, Bruce Struemph, Ken Menges, Mark James, Don Weidinger, Bob Stormer and Adam Wieberg.
