Kayla Dawn Brown, 31, Dixon, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 11, 1987, to James Emerson and Vicki Elaine (Wilson) Brown, at Jefferson City.

She was united in marriage to Clois James Brown Jr., Sept. 15, 2018, in Dixon.

Kayla was a member of Wheeler Church of Christ, near Dixon. She was a 2007 graduate of Dixon R-1 High School. Following graduation, she worked as an intern for Disney World in Orlando, Fla. After returning to Dixon, she became a certified nurse’s aide and was employed at Reliable Home Health, Rolla. She was a charter member of Pulaski County Assembly #78, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Waynesville. She was a past Worthy Advisor of the Assembly and a Past Pledge Mother of the Pledge Group. She was also a member of Pulaski County Preceptory, Grand Cross of Color, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She was a Majority Rainbow Girl and a member of Hanson Chapter #22 Order of the Eastern Star, Waynesville.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Betty “Nan” Brown; and maternal grandfather, Robert Wilson.

She is survived by husband, James, of the home; parents, Jim and Vicki, of Dixon; brothers, Andrew Brown of Linn and Brian Brown and wife Emily of Rochester, Minn.; sister, Kristina Foster and husband Brian of Crocker; paternal grandfather, Don Brown of Crocker; maternal grandmother, LaVonne Wilson of Dixon; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, James Sr. and Linda Brown of Willow Springs.

Eastern Star services were held Tuesday, April 16, followed by a funeral service with Bro. Tommy Nichols and Bro. Larry Cardin leading, all in the Dixon Chapel of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home. Interment was in Wheeler Cemetery, near Dixon.
