Joseph “Sonny” Murphy Jr., 70, Belle, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at his home.
He was born Nov. 5, 1948, to Joseph P. and May (Kunz) Murphy, in Fillmore, Ill.
He was united in marriage to Beverly (Cox) Murphy, May 26, 1973.
Joseph moved to the Belle area in 1968.
He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and May; and great-granddaughter, Annebelle.
He is survived by wife, Beverly; sons, Joe and wife Shelly of Amherst, Wis., and Mike and wife Kathy of Vichy; daughters, Joy and husband Dustin of Vichy and Mamie Brown and husband Jason of Belle; brother, John Murphy of Owensville; sister, Mamie Jennings of Springfield, Ill.; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle. Interment was in Countryside Memorial Gardens near Bland. Memorial contributions suggested to Hospice Compassus.
