James Cardin

James Craig “Jim” Cardin, 77, Dixon, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, after being diagnosed with pneumonia five days prior.

He was born April 19, 1941, to William Doral and Mellie Sue (King) Cardin, in Pulaski County.

He was united in marriage to Janet Marie Boucher, May 26, 1963, at Dixon.

James was a member of the Dixon Church of Christ and the Brick Layer Union Local 15 in Jefferson City. He had worked in construction as a brick mason for 40 years prior to his retirement in 2004 and was also a livestock farmer. He owned and operated Cardin’s Fishing Lake along with wife, Janet. 

He was preceded in death by parents, William and Mellie; wife, Janet; and sisters, Carolyn Sue Cardin and Peggy Sharon Waak Harrison.

He is survived by daughters, Miriam Hardesty and husband Travis of Eldon and Melane Brown and husband Ronnie of Dixon; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 23, 2019, in the Church of Christ, Dixon, with Mark White as the speaker. Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery. Memorial contributions suggested to the Fair Haven Children’s Home, Strafford, or the Little Prairie Bible Camp Inc., St. James.
