Heavy snow hits Mid-Missouri

While most county residences where staying home MoDOT drivers where doing their best to keep roads clear. Mark Buscher, MoDOT Superintendent for Maries, Phelps and Pulaski counties, said the crew worked nine people per shift, working two 12-hour shifts beginning on Friday morning and this continued around the clock until Monday morning. They used eight trucks, and one motor grader and one tractor. Buscher said 350 tons of salt, cinder and sand each were mixed and put on the roads. He complimented the public for being cautious as they stayed off the roads, which makes the roads easier to clear without a lot of traffic. He said this is much appreciated as their goal is to keep everyone safe.
