Elmo Franks, 87, Vienna, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at his residence.

He was born April 7, 1931, to Wilmerth and Viola (Wallace) Franks, at Mountain View, Ark.

He was first united in marriage in 1950 to the former Virginia Wallace. He was later united in marriage to the former Anna Bell (Williams) Thompson, at Mountain View, Ark.

Elmo was a member of the Gaylor Baptist Church, Mountain View, Ark. During his working life, he had been employed in timber work and as a wood cutter.  Elmo moved to Vienna in 1959 when the Cloud Oak Flooring Company, Mountain View, Ark., opened a mill south of Vienna on the Lloyd Terry farm where he worked for a number of years. Following his work there, he was employed as a Night Watchman for Patio Chef at the Wulff Charcoal Kilns, west of Vienna, until his retirement.  

He was preceded in death by parents, Wilmerth and Viola; four brothers; two sisters; one half-brother; son, Larry; and two step-grandchildren.

He is survived by wife, Anna Bell; children, Dewayne, Lloyd, Ronnie and Marilyn; step-children, Melvina, Shelia and Buddy; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. in the Spoonflat Cemetery, Fifty-Six, Ark., with the Rev. Darrell Gosser, Abudant Life Church, Mountain View, Ark., officiating.
