Edwin Bernard Brunnert, 90, Argyle, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, in the Missouri Veterans Home, St. James.

He was born Aug. 11, 1928, to Philip Joseph and Regina Frances (Luebbert) Brunnert, at Argyle.

Edwin was a graduate of St. Aloysius School, Argyle, and a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. His primary duties were attached to the Aviation Engineers building bridges and roads. Edwin later worked as a Watkins Products representative. He was a member of the VFW Post 8045 and Knights of Columbus Council 2047, both of Argyle. He served on the Argyle Town Board and helped to obtain and implement the new Argyle water and sewer system. Edwin was also a member of the Argyle Volunteer Fire Department and served as Osage County Commissioner.

He was preceded in death by parents, Philip and Regina; siblings, William Brunnert and wife LaVon, Louis J. “Cotton” Brunnert and wife Freda, Benno Brunnert, Joseph George “Joe” Brunnert, Johanna Brunnert and Charles “Charlie” Brunnert and wife Margaret; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Brunnert.

He is survived by brother, Eugene “Gene” Brunnert and wife Elaine of Cheyenne, Okla.; sister, Dolores Brunnert of Thornton, Colo.; and sisters-in-law, Mary Brunnert of Mustang, Okla. and Katie Brunnert of Argyle.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 22, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:15 p.m. and a VFW service at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary service at 6:45 p.m. and again from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., all in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik will serve as celebrant. Interment with full military honors will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle. Memorial contributions suggested for masses or to the Argyle VFW Post 8045.
