Come next week throughout Maries County, numerous fall sports athletes from Belle and Vienna will begin practicing for their respective upcoming seasons.
Over in Belle, Scott Moran’s Tiger soccer team will practice on the pitch from 6:30-8 a.m., each morning Monday through Wednesday before shifting to after school on Thursday and Friday at the Kingsford Soccer Complex just outside the Belle city limits.
Jacob Walton’s BHS Cross Country teams will run from 7-8:15 a.m., after meeting initially at Belle High School Monday through Wednesday before moving to after school on Thursday and Friday.
Replacing Tracy Auer, Evin Farris’ Belle Lady Tiger volleyball squad will begin their fall practice slate Monday afternoon from 3:30-6 p.m., in the BHS big gym. That time will hold true for the rest of next week.
Chris Feeler’s Belle Tiger fall baseball team will open preparations for their season Monday from 3:45-5:45 p.m., at the baseball field across from the softball. That time will stay the same the remainder of next week.
Taking over for long-time Lady Tiger head softball coach Butch Gehlert, the Denni Horstman era of BHS softball will kick off with practice each day next week from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the softball field in Belle City Park.
Fresh off one of their most memorable seasons last year, Mick Byrd’s Vienna Eagle softball team will begin their quest for another one Monday afternoon from 3:30-5 p.m., at the VHS softball field with that time staying the same the rest of the week.
