Carl Eugene Rose, 86, Bland, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

He was born May 18, 1932, to William and Anna (Schonhoff) Rose, at Rosebud.

He was united in marriage to Dianna Walls, June 9, 1979, at Rosebud.

Carl was a member of Christ Community Church in Owensville, VFW Post 7147 in Cuba and American Legion Post 587 in Rosebud.  He served with the U.S. Army as a medic in Germany in 1956. He was retired from Alliston Indianapolis Industries. He loved working in his garden and spent many years playing music, writing songs and recording them. His favorite things were spending time with his family and friends. He loved his church and his church family.

He was preceded in death by parents, William and Anna; children, Daniel Rose and Carla Devol; grandson, Adam Gray; brothers, Leo, Bill, Richard, Joseph, Walter and Edward; and sisters, Ruth Miller, Dorothy Korff, Helen West and Mary Rousset.

He is survived by wife, Dianna of the home; sons, Denny Rose and wife Bonnie of High Gate, Curtis Rose and wife Robin of Bland, James Poland and wife Susan of Bland; daughters, Sue Roach and husband Bill of Sullivan, Cara Williams of Lebanon, Ind., Cheryl Sims and husband Stan of Bowling Green, Ind., Deana Hart and husband Jimmy of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; sister, Bernice Ketterer of O’Fallon; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and the mothers of our children, Carol Gray and Linda Seba.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 2, at Christ Community Church in Owensville with Pastor Shane Jarvis officiating. Burial was in Countryside Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Memorials suggested to Christ Community Church Youth Group. Arrangements entrusted to Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
