Bob Gene Whiteside, 77, Vienna, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 8, 1942, to Homer Lee and Bess (Lewis) Whiteside, at West Frankfort, Ill.
He was united in marriage Dec. 24, 1974, to Judith “Judy” Ann (Bottom) Wilkins, at Marion, Ill.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy. His last active duty assignment was on the USS Ingraham (DD 694) at the rank of SN (E-3). He had been employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections, Jefferson City, as a correctional officer for 20 years prior to retirement.
He was preceded in death by parents, Homer and Bess; and sister, Gayla Sue Whiteside.
He is survived by wife, Judy, of the home; and step-son, Michael Wilkins.
Private interment was in Union Hill Cemetery, near Vienna.
