Thursday afternoon, Belle City Park played host to the annual Belle Cross Country Invitational.
Among seven Maries County harriers in the middle school boys race, Bland’s Trenton Burnett paced the Bears with a fourth-place time of 9:01.22. Baylar Smith also finished 40th in 10:49.54 for Bland.
Vienna was paced by Duncan Wilkinson’s 19th-place time of 10:00.38 in Belle.
Cash Stricklan was the next Eagle to cross the finish line with a 61st-place time of 11:39.36.
Weston Patton followed closely with a 65th-place time of 11:50.90. Gavin Schwartze checked in with a 69th-place time of 12:11.11.
Alijah Mercer was Vienna’s fifth runner with an 88th-place time of 13:36.75.
In middle school girl’s racing action at Belle, Vienna’s Cami Doyel led county harriers with an eighth-place time of 10:33.81.
Kiera Hollis was the next Eagle across the finish line with a 43rd-place time of 12:34.25.
Navaeh Kinsey was Bland’s lone runner in the girls race finishing 46th in 12:37.74.
Also helping Vienna to an eighth-place finish as a team were Andrea Novak (62nd, 14:04.78), Alia Terwilliger (63rd, 14:10.86) and Beth Martin (79th, 16:43.12).
Belle’s JV boy’s trio of Corey McDaniel (3rd, 19:38.51), Jorge Uribes (4th, 20:13.97) and Josiah Hance (13th, 20:52.38) took up three of the top 13 spots for Jacob Walton’s Tigers.
Kierra Finn was the lone Maries County runner in either varsity race running a 79th-place time of 28:28.34 for the Lady Tigers.
